Meet Lea Gibbs
Founder | Literacy & Learning Specialist
Lea Gibbs is a passionate educator and interventionist with over twenty years of experience helping students thrive. Originally from Boise, Idaho, Lea developed a deep love for the outdoors and a lifelong curiosity about how people learn. She holds a Master of Education and began her career teaching elementary students at a magnet school in Bend, Oregon.
After relocating to Colorado, Lea joined Denver Academy—a renowned school for diverse learners—where she served as a classroom teacher, Literacy Specialist, and private tutor. She is a certified advanced Orton-Gillingham instructor in both reading and multisensory math. Her work supports learners with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, executive functioning difficulties, and other language-based learning differences.
Lea now serves as the Learning Specialist at Telluride Mountain School, where she leads academic support programming and provides individualized intervention. She is dedicated to fostering a culture of inclusion, confidence, and growth for all learners, with a focus on personalized, evidence-based strategies.
Lea’s work is also shaped by her background as a professional-class mountain bike racer, PMBIA-certified mountain bike coach, and PSIA Nordic ski instructor. She brings the same energy, patience, and focus she uses on the trail and snow into her work with students—believing deeply in the power of movement and challenge to build confidence, resilience, and self-awareness. Outside of teaching and coaching, she enjoys alpine, Nordic, and backcountry skiing, world travel, riding dirt bikes, and scuba diving.
